frequent 404 errors

Recently I have started getting frequent 404 errors on sites that I frequently use without problems. my old laptop works fine on these sites but not this one, although it did originally. Driving me mad! Any thoughts?

What browser are you using? If you are using Internet Explorer you could try turning off 'Stop Showing Friendly Error Messages' to get a better insight into what the issue is.

Typically 404 errors are related to the Web Site / Servers that the Web Site runs on, and aren't something that a browser / PC has any control over.

I am quite surprised that you are going to the same address on your laptop and getting through ok, whereas on your computer you are not able to. Please double check the addresses in the Browsers Address bars between your laptop and PC again.
