I heard from the forums that the alienware x51 R2 uses a custom motherboard. Does that mean the alienware x51 r2 motherboard won't work with other computer setups?
My current build setup :
- Alienware x51 R2 motherboard
- ASUS ROG POSEIDON-GTX780
- Corsair Professional Series HX 750 Watt
- Crucial 16GB Kit DDR3 1600 MT/s PC3-12800 CL11 Unbuffered UDIMM 240-Pin
- nzxt phantom 410 (This case supports m-itx)

Solution
Hi there
What this means is that they choose to use a custom layout that does not correspond to the normal ATX standard with this board.
So yes, you would have difficulty slotting this mobo in to a normal case.
I seem to have missed the fact that you have that board housed in a NZXT phantom 410.
If it fits into that case without a hassle, it "should" fit into any other case as well.

Indeed, scratch what I said in my first post. Upon looking again, I see that board uses a mITX layout, so any case that supports mITX will do.
