I am building a pc in a few months ,but until then I will have to use the older pc I have with vista on it. I have a copy of windows 8.1 and a 240gb ssd. I am wondering if it is possible to use the old pc I have now to install windows 8.1 onto my ssd that I will put in my new build in a few months. I would take the old hard drive with vista out and download it on to the ssd. Does anyone know if this works??

Solution
There can be driver incompatibilities in case the hardware from the two machines is too different which would cause windows not to boot. Why are you not just waiting to install?

My plan was to just wait, but I wondering this because the windows vista software I have is 32 bit so it doesn't run games well.
