my hp laptop cant find my cd/dvd drive. It lights up, spins, but media player says there is no cd/dvd drive present. It is a built in, not external laptop has vista operating system. One day it worked, the next it was gone, and i didnt do any updates, didnt add any programs, apps, downloads it just disappeared. Have tried the regedit deal, all options, none worked, tried microsoft fixit, even that said it wasnt there. Have no idea if it is BIOS or not, have no idea how to get there to look, not very computer literate
