GeForce GTX650 Dual Monitor Problems

I have a 1gb Nvidia GeForce GTX650 card with a VGA, DVI and HDMI ports. I bought two identical ASUS 24" monitors to surf web/game.

I hooked one up using an HDMI and the other using a DVI cord. Nvidia and my computer recognise both monitors but the HDMI one isnt displaying anything. Ive switched up monitors on the DVI cable and they both work perfectly. My only thoughts are the HDMI cord is dead but I have just recently used it for my TV.

Are there any known problems or settings I have to take into account when using both HDMI and DVI outputs from a single card to two monitors?

Does it show up as a second monitor in Windows display options? If it does, can you drag stuff over to the other monitor? Many people new to dual monitors expect the monitor to just start showing icons and programs, it won't unless you move them over to that second screen.
