MSI Z87-G41 with I5 4590 question

Will I need to suffer through flashing my bios to run this CPU or can I not bother with it? I've looked but not found much on it. If I need to, can anyone provide some advice on how I would go about it?

If this is the mobo it needs BIOS 1.6 on it before it'll support that CPU

Core i5 Haswell Refresh i5-4590 100 3.3 1M 6M C0 84 HD Graphics 4600 1150MHz 7850v16.zip

If this isnt on it then you'll have to take it to a shop and ask them to do it with a cpu it supports

Or you'll have to buy a CPU it supports then do it

Unless it supports something like USB BIOS flashback. Which some ASUS mobos support

Have you got the mobo and / or CPU now??

I'll be getting it tomorrow via mail, I bought it on impulse because of a dramatically reduced price and (using my ever-so limited knowledge of these things) figured my motherboard should support it either way.

(I've got the mobo right now.)

Look at the sticker on it, if its got one. What are the last 4 numbers on it if there are numbers on it?

Does it have something like this ?? 7850vxx?

Mmm well the first BIOS is 1.0. So I would say it'll need a BIOS update. 026 isnt even on the site

That sucks. Would following a method such as this be safe enough? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIdj0i7AxCI As I'd prefer not to take it to a shop/purchase another CPU.

I've never had a MSI mobo. So, I dont know if it would be safe or not
