Hello all! If someone has a reasonable explanation for this i would be grateful because i am loosing my mind! I bought a Coolermaster realpower m850W PSU to replace an old unbranded 550W PSU on my build. Thats when the fun started. Whenever i try to play a game, any game, my sound goes off. I tried resiting the sound card ( x-fi), changed the pcie slot, new drivers, fresh windows install always the same issue! no matter what the game sound goes off. It only fixes when restarting the pc. Sound works fine until a game starts. When using the onboard realtek audio there are no issues. So i tried the old PSU back and problem solved! I took the 850W PSU to a friend who tested it and said it works fine as it meant to! Does anyone have any idea what is causing this? I cant figure it out
