Is AMD going out of business due to every great game coming out being %100 optimized for NVIDIA only?

So far every game worth playing this year is going to be %100 optimized for NVIDIA and will play so bad if not being playable at all on AMD. Assassins Creed Unity, Far Cry 4, and may others can not even run on AMD cards or atleast not even goot. My friends i7 and AMD R9-295x2 cant even handle the Unity at a playable FPS due to low FPS and a LOT of stutters. Is this going to be the Downfall of AMD? I know there are some crappy games like Alien Isolation, Dragon Age inqusistion or whatever the heck that weird games called, Murdered Souls Suspect, and many other low rated, horible graphical games that are optimized for AMD but they are just trash in reviews and money the company made from them. I am an AMD guy and to me it just looks like AMD is going out of gaming from the looks of it. What do you guys think?

-But ever good game coming out is NVIDIA optimized and made to where AMD cards will not run them good at all. If there is no good games out there than how is AMD going to sell? NVIDIA makes better quality and better performing cards as it is so the lack of being able to use AMD cards to play games is going to hurt AMD even more. Look up AMD`s stock market it is so low i do not think they will recover.....ever.

The downfall of AMD is they have very poor marketing and public relations. They don't "connect" as well with game companies as Nvidia does. Nvidia has its own Gameworks that work with many major gaming companies to have the best Nvidia experience straight out of launch.

Well ok i may have been blunt some but come on man compared to Skyrim it is trash in ever way, but for an EA game yea it is pretty decent. The graphics are very horrible but its ok.

Thats what i thought. I guess i wont be able to play any games on my R9-290 :( I wish i would have stayed with console. I know PC gaming itself is going to die and i dont want that to happen but i mean Console is dominating PC gaming in ever possible aspect in ever way, everywhere online says so, so many facts, even NVIDIA and AMD said it. I just can tbeleive i built a PC to find out that now AMD cards suck and wont be able to play any games this year........ $1300 down the drain. Wish id get a PS4 since itd be easier, cheaper, play every game, and never need to upgrade, and doesnt take 10 days to set up a server just to be able to play games with friends................I still lie PC more but god i made a big mistake :(

Na PC gaming won't die, it just won't be optimized as well as before. Consoles hold 90% sales of games compared to PC's 10%. But games aren't made specifically for PC in the first place. They are made for consoles then ported to PC.

Porting doesn't cost a lot of money at all.

FYI, that is why I've boycotted AMD since 2010, both CPUs and GPUs they have been failing and failing.

There does seem to be a greater focus toward Nvidia but it's important to remember that AC: Unity and FC4 both come from the same publisher, Ubisoft, so they clearly show bias toward Nvidia hardware. You can say the same about AMD and the Battlefield series.

Whilst this may hurt AMD somewhat, they won't be closing up shop anytime soon. There are still plenty of AAA titles that run just fine on AMD hardware.

Fat chance.

Worldwide sales estimates put consoles at around 160 million, yet LoL has around 130 million subscribers. That's just one game, with around 27 million players every day! The Last of Us, arguably the greatest PS3 game ever, sold over 6 million copies in total. Diablo 3 sold that many copies in just one week!

All platforms have their strengths and weaknesses, but to say that PC gaming is going to die is ridiculous.

Compared to Console questions asked no it does not matter. For example look at the thousands and thousands if not millions of people at the announcement of the PS4 and Xbox ONE. When NVIDIA or AMD comes out with a new card there only business men there and i bet you'd hear crickets chirping in the background lol. I am a PC gamer but its true there are atleast %99.9 more Console gamers than PC gamers. We are a dying breed that is dying but is also immortal and cant die.

I can handle RealVision ENB on skyrim at 40 stable FPS whish is more perfomrance demanding than any game in existance and also makes games like FarCry 4 and Unity look like an Atari 2600 game lol. Its craz How Skyrim is still years ahead of other games when modded.

I definitely disagree it is "years ahead". All it is, is simply post-processing and ultra high textures. Lame & unimpressive. No global illumination, no tessellation, no deferred lightning, etc.

Skyrim is old now.

problem is DA: Inquisition is not Skyrim nor it want to become Skyrim wannabe. it may borrow some idea or inspiration from Skyrim open world nature but the game play is different and the way both game present their story also different.

well about the original question i don't think so. to be exact i don't think AMD will ever go out of business. intel need them to be alive to certain extend. but it is possible that AMD will become another VIA.

I guess millions of facts and Google lied than. If Skyrim does look unimpressive than every other game in existance looks extremely unimpressive. Talk down to Crysis 3, that game is so overrated just for its graphics i mean the game itself is garbage, the gameplay, and story are the worst i have seen it is just so sloppy. You may say Skyrim is Ugly but if you truly think that than every other game is extremely ugly. Tell me, what other game looks better or maybe even %10 close to skyrim. Age has nothing to do with what a games looks when it can be modded pretty much unlimited.

Lol, i know that i was just giving and example.

AC:U runs like crap on ALL hardware. It is just broken.
Farcry 4 runs just fine on AMD. And don't forget BF4 was an AMD game.

I could see AMD going out of the desktop CPU market but they won't go out of business.
They are still holding their own in the GPU market

^Even on GPU side they starts slowing down. they used to be very aggressive with their GPU in the past. new series each year. and if possible will jump to new node every year. right now they were competitive in discrete GPU because nvidia did not go all out in one go like they did in the past (that's why we see Gxx04 chip being used in flagship card). i've already heard rumors that their new 300 series might repeat what we saw with 200 series. maybe only 390X/390 are truly new part. the 380s will be rebrand of current 290s and the 370s will based on Tonga.
