I have an opportunity to get an i7 5930 at a great price and I have a question about closed loop cooling systems. Does anyone know if a LGA 2011 universal cooler will fit on a LGA 2011 v3 board. As far as I have read, the only difference is the pin placement so theoretically the mounts should be the same.

Solution
Yes, it does work. Some of the newer processors disperse a bit more TDP (140W) than the older models at 130W, so bear that in mind. I've one running a low-end i7-5820K on the "stock" intel AIO cooler and temps seem just fine. FOr some reason Intel now has a new AIO cooler with very little documentation or description to differentiate between it and the older LGA-2011 cooler. not that it matters - the mounting is similar.
