So, I've got 2 2.0 USB ports and 4 3.0 USB ports located in the back of my tower and two 2.0 USB ports located in the front of my tower. Whenever I plug my USB webcam into any of th USB ports in the back of my tower, it either shuts off or it'll make the sound where a device connects, but when I try to use the webcam, it doesn't seem to be identified anywhere on my system (ex. Skype and OBS both don't recognize that the system is plugged in and even device manager doesn't show it). If I plug it into the USB ports in the front of my computer, it causes my headset to stop working.

Webcam: HD LifeCam 3000

Other peripherals plugged in: Quickfire TK, Logitech G600 mouse, Logitech G35 headset, 2 x 23.6" 1920x1080 ASUS VN247H-P monitors (using HDMI and DVI ports).

Computer specs:
Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer
RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengence
GPU: NVIDIA GTX980
Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-4790K (4x 4.0GHz/8MB L3)
Space: 120GB SSD + 1T HD
Power supply: 850 Watt Corsair RM850
OS: Windows 8

The only reason I can think of for this happening is that I'm overloading my power supply but with 850 watts I find that very unlikely. The webcam has worked before, on this system, but all of a sudden it's causing all these issues. Back when I first used it I plugged it into one of the 2.0 ports and noticed my system wasn't turning on (I plugged it in, it shut down, and wouldn't turn on until I unplugged it), so I used one of the ports in the front. It worked for about a week, no issues while streaming, but now when I use that port it causes my headset to stop being recognized.

Any ideas as to what's going on?

More than likely it is shorting out... causing the PSU to shut down to protect itself. Since you have tried multiple ports(they can't all be broken), it must be the Webcam thats the problem.

You could try replacing the cable on the webcam
