only today ive noticed my PC has been restarting randomly without any bluescreen and i dont know why. I've seen people say its a PSU problem but its never really happened before while i've had this PSU so i dont think it is. I also thought it was because of playing Battlefield 4 as it only happened at first while i was playing that but about 10 mins ago it did it while i wasnt on a game so im not sure what it couldv'e been?

Solution
OKay, in that case You can probably only change one rail. Please make sure the rails are connected firmly and they "click" to Your VGA. And if You have 3 12V PCi-e rails on Your PSU, please change at least one, than try the other one. After each exchange, run FurMark.

i have a G7 power series 780w PSU from Maplins and a GTX 770 2GB and as far as i can see the fans are spinning yes. Also it hasnt happened in a while now so not sure whether it was just a random temporary loss of mains power maybe?

yeah sure. ill report back

and im not sure actually, it wasnt good. just like a cheap £20 one that the manufacturer threw in. ive pretty much changed everything on the pc since i bought it so

I asked for PSU, because it may have damaged motherboard, e.g. part that takes care of PCi-e ports [which should be CPU, but there are still residuals of chipset even nowadays on motherboard].

The test is gonna tell You whether it's something with VGA. If it's VGA don't panic, just try different 12V PCi-e ril, 7xx PSU should have at least 3.

If it's gonna get repeated in the test on each rail, You'll have to RMA Your graphics card [VGA].

weirdly this PSu only has 2 6 pin connectors hence i was using a 2 6 pin to 8 pin adapter and fot the other 6 pin it was using a 2 molex to 1 6 pin adapter also. anyhow ive changed some of the connectors around all all seems good actually. Furmark is running as we speak and no crashes have happened as of yet (touch wood). Also when i pushed the connectors back into the sockets there was a louder click from the GPU as if it was clicking into the PCIe slot so i think maybe that couldv'e contributed too if indeed that was what it was

ok will do. ill let it run for a bit then. thinking about it now i did remove my CPU fan recently to 'de dust' it and i could've knocked one of the power connectors or something cos i did have a move around with some of the wires. Anyway thanks for your help your a life saver lol :)

Glad I could help :) PCi-e slot is extremely sensitive to be "clicked" right, even different angle of vga in PCi-e screw-wise can cause such a trouble. And also badly connected power supply unit cables.

I'm just glad it's not the vga [gpu or vram, or something], that's wrong.

yeah at least it was only a power connector issue and not something worse and more complicated lol. tbh i would eventually like to upgrade to a Corsair Modular PSU when i can afford it. hate having all these cables lol xD
