Using Blu Ray as monitor for a webcast

I want to view a live webcast for a group of friends on our plasma screen tv. We have a blu ray player that is connected to the TV. I want to use my MacBook for the streaming. Or, can the blu ray access the webcast? We have a router and high speed internet. If I use the VGA connection on the back of the TV and then connect to the laptop, will I also need audio cable?

I doubt your blue ray player can get to the webcast. But, you could disconnect the HDMI cable from the blue ray player and connect it to your laptop.
