I am upgrading my computer and am wondering if - Team Vulcan 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 - will work with the ASUS Sabertooth 990fx R2.0

You can always run RAM at a lower frequency and you can even tighten timings to compensate lower bandwidth with lower latency. The RAM is compatible, in that it will certainly work. It just might not perform as well as if controlled by an Intel Haswell CPU.

If my luck happens to be bad and it runs with the 1866MT/s the system will still run fine with the full 8gb right? it will just be running at a lower frequency? or will the system just not run it.
