New PC Build - fans spin but no video signal

This is my first time building a PC, and I'm looking for help getting it up and running. I've been reading many threads on similar topics but thought I'd start my own thread as I have been having multiple issues.

I'll try to make this short: I started last night. Made the mistake of putting the whole case together will all components before booting. It didn't work - boot loop every time. Did the whole troubleshooting process for this with no luck. I had made the mistake of installing the motherboard without the risers - not sure if it was dead or if I killed it. Pulled the board out and booted it with it set up outside the case. Still no luck.

Exchanged the board today, and this time I booted up with the bare essentials before installing in the case. And it worked! Or at least I got a signal on the screen asking me to insert a bootable drive. Close enough. So I installed everything in the case again. Booted again but didn't get to the BIOS screen this time. No boot loop either - the fans just spin and lights turn on but no signal on the monitor. After a while the fans on the graphics card stop spinning, but that's it.

After this I tried various things again - reset CMOS, remove all but one RAM chip, swap RAM chips, etc. Finally I did manage to get a BIOS screen, with just one RAM chip installed. Thinking the problem had been resolved I put all of them back in and - back to square one again. Thing is, after that I haven't been able to recreate that success.

Now I'm stuck again, but I'm pretty sure I at least have a working motherboard this time. Any ideas where to go from here?

System is:

Gigabyte X99 UD4
Intel Core i7-5820K
Corsair H105
Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (4x4)
GTX 980 Classified
Corsair HX850

Thanks in advance!

Chris

I think the RAM may have problem, you have to try it one by one, make sure using the XMP profile setting in the BIOS, and clear the CMOS too.
After that put one in and boot the PC, if you can boot up the PC, turn off the pc, then add 2nd one and boot, and so on until you can find out which one has problem.

Thanks for the advice but I'm still having trouble getting back to where I was. I left the house for a few hours with the power and motherboard battery removed. Just now finished testing each RAM stick separately - each in two different slots - and with removing the power and battery between each test. I still was never able to get it to boot to the BIOS screen. Is it possible that all of the memory is bad? Is it common for it to be this finicky?
