Did my SSD just die? My 8.1 system crashed and won't boot.

My month old build just crashed and now will not boot. My SSD (which is my boot device) no longer appears in the bios anywhere. This one has me stumped.

I booted to a Win 8 DVD and attempted to repair boot issues to no avail.

What is the best way to proceed? I assume this has to be either a SSD failure (most likely) or a motherboard issue (not very likely)?

I have not been overclocking this system any yet.

Specs:

i5 4690k
Asus maximus hero vii
Crucial 500gb ssd
WD 1TB HDD
8 gb ram
gigabyte gtx 970

would be glad to provide any additional info if that helps.

I doubt it that the SSD died, I've had a few SSDs a few years back die and they still appeared in the BIOS. Have you tried checking to see if a connection came loose inside the case? If you don't have clamping Sata cables sometimes they can slip out.
