my motherboard failed (asrock 990fx extreme9) and I replaced it with the same, now it won't read any connected sata drives!

I built my machine in august. It was the first new build in 6 years. Motherboards and such had changed a bit since then. The imbecile that advised me made two critical errors: 1) my build requires a minimum of 1200 watts. 2) never use a heavy cooler master heat sink on a board that gets so hot.
my computer ran fantastic... until it didn't. Last week it started freezing up, then shutting off. I went through every component looking for the problem. I went through: 3 mobo"s, 3 power supplies, 2 cpu's, 2 hdd's, and 2 sets of ram. So please don't suggest I try any of those.
everything I swapped out or replaced was the same exact brand and model as the original build ex et for the power supply which has now been upped to 1,200 watts and the cooling system is now corsair hydro h100i.
I've eliminated all issues now except one: Dr. Debug error code A6. The UEFI doesn't recognize any SAT connections... at all! I've cleared cmos, I've unplugged, restarted, shut off, plugged back in, set to IDE mode (I don't use a raid config and use windows 7), and everything else I can think of. I'll reinstall windows and wipe the c drive if I can get that far, but nothing I do is getting the SCSI to read even my DVD drive! I know the SCSI is controlled by the Southbridge, but I'd like some help before I go tinkering with that.
my build:
asrock 990fx extreme9
amd fx9590
corsair vengeance 8x4 ram
radeon r9 270 gpu
wd 2tb hdd

Anyone have any ideas on this? I got nuthin'...

Normal build with a R9 270 needs 450watt PSU add another 100 watts for the extra 100watts that your CPU pulls over normal CPU's and your rig only needs 550watts. If overclocked a 750watt would be plenty!
Something is wrong since you can not have such bad luck. No shorts in the case? What is the make model PSU (all in question)?

Coolermaster 1200
the reason for the higher power is that the 9590 takes 220 watts
my case is the corsair graphite 760
at ive got it down to this: a software issue. All hardware is firing fine and can be confirmed. I just don't have a clue what config i need to set th3 uefi into to get it to accept the sata connections.

You wrote, "the 9590 takes 220 watts".

Actually the 220 watts refers to the Thermal Design Power (TDP).
The Thermal Design Power (TDP) is the average maximum power a processor can dissipate while running commercially available software. TDP is primarily used as a guideline for manufacturers of thermal solutions (heatsinks/fans, etc) which tells them how much heat their solution should dissipate.

I think your omission of the type of memory you are using, other than the use of the vague term 4 x 8 ram, may be the problem. Maybe you could try listing the part number of the RAM you are using.

I did say what type of ram I was using- corsair vengeance. 4 sticks of 8gb ram. Thank you for giving constructive advice, Oh wait... you didn't.
