Asking For Review Of My First Build Before I buy The Parts.

Hello, it's been now 2 or 3 months that I started choosing all the parts for my long-term pc build project. At first, as many others I was going for a very simple pc with as low budget as possible and wasn't even expecting to buy and build it at all. Then some time passed and I realized that I could take all the time I want to get the money to build my pc, so I began chosing parts with this way of thinking and also with the option that I have a friend that plan on selling his GTX 760 2GB pretty soon after he gets the GTX 980.

Now that the introduction is made, I want to explain my needs. No matter what I use, from my ipod to my dad's pc and even my actual laptop, I ALWAYS get to the very limit of the machine, not being able to do everything I really want to. I'm sure lots of you also experienced this and this is why I want to build my own computer.

Basically, I am a gamer. I know how much cooling is important in a computer because of my crappy HP Envy m6 that over-heated countless times, the CPU going over 90 celcius, ending up with the entire machine shutting down and since it happened many times, my overall performance have been reduced a LOT during the last year I've got this laptop.

So, there is my build:

The things I DON'T want to change are:
-The GTX 760 2GB (since I get it for 200$ from my friend that never overclocked it, like-new quality)
-I don't have any need for any SSD
-Only need the most basic DVD/CD reader/burner
-The awesome cooling that the Rosewill Armor-Evo is known for

The things I would like to have someone help me with:
-I don't know if I should take the AMD FX 6300 or the FX 8530 but I simply want the best performance/price ratio and also I don't want to OverClock anything.
-I have some difficulties chosing the right motherboard even if the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 seems like a pretty great one.
-I took the ram with the lowest price for the best reviews but there might be better for less, I just want to know.

Finally, I would like to know what some more experienced people think of my choices and if there is possibilities for improvements, I would like to know them.

Btw, I would appreciate it to stay under the 900$ (CAD)

Thanks for the help and sorry for the ridiculous lenght of this post, I just want my project to end well.

your build looks good, but I would of go with a more powerful CPU, gives you some room for upgrading the GPU later on. FX 6300 will do the job for now. why did you decided to go the AMD route? just curious, I believe you can build an Intel System for that money!

I picked AMD simply because Intel CPU are much more costy and also, even if I don't know a lot about this part, Intel processors have a base clock that is almost always a lot lower than AMD's CPU for the same price.

Also, AMD is known for being good for gaming build.

But of course I don't have any experience on building my own pc XD
I'm just doing my choices based on what other people have done in the past and what they say about it on the internet.

With that said, the main reason why I took AMD is because I'm trying to get the best CPU under 150-170$ and the FX series seems to be the only that is on these prices while still being a "high end" CPU.

Clock speed is a matter of looks, you need to have more insight, a FX 8350 OC'd to 4.5 ghz is equivalent to a I5. The 8350 is more powerful, especially if you are working with CAD, if you have more money then a I7 would be good, but meh... You have some good RAM, always look for CAS 9 which you have there :p.

I'm extremely happy to know that this ram is good :D
Also, if you say CAD as the modelisation programs such as solid edge, I must say that yes, it will be something I will work with in a not so distant future (Already using Solid Edge A LOT at school)

Otherwise, I have no idea what you mean by CAD if it's not a program for modelisation of mechanical parts, or others... But with that said, Solid Edge which will probably be the main program I will use for the next year(s) doesn't require lot of CPU/GPU power..... my A10 cpu runs it no problem and our crappy school computers can load and interact with very complicated assembly without a lag (almost).

Thanks a lot :) I made my decision and I'm going with an FX-8350 because why not XD
