Locked HDD Appearing in Intel Rapid Storage but nowhere else

I have a weird issue, I bought a bulk lot of laptops and I am testing the Hard Drives.

When inserting a 160GB WD Blue, Intel Rapid Storage picks it up status locked with password. Nowhere else picks it up (My Computer / Drive Management )

Any idea how i'd go about unlocking this drive?

When booting with it inserted it freezes the computer too..

I'm pretty sure that if it's locked with a password, there is no way to unlock it without the password.

We don't really help with bypassing security, as we have no way to ensure that the drive wasn't stolen.

Yeah fair enough. Just seemed like a waste of a decent hard drive so I thought i'd ask. And weird how I can't get to any prompt to enter a password, maybe it's wrecked underneath. Thanks anyway

If it's hanging when you'd expect to enter the password, it's possible it's in the middle of a secure erase - those can't be stopped until they're done.

Give it a few hours, and it might wake up completed - I think the erase removes the password, not sure.
