I have a HP compaq 6005 pro sff with a ATI Radeon HD 4200 graphics card in it, AMD Athlon ll x2 3.0 ghz processor and a 240 watt ps. I wanted to upgrade so that I could play WOW without all the lag. I have it on the lowest setting and only get about 9-14 fps. I was looking at a XFX HD 6670 650MHz 2GB DDR3/HDMI/DVI/VGA PCI-Express Graphics Card HD667XCLF3 on amazon, most of the reviews say it will work with the ps that I have. I don't know much about it, just wanted to know if this would work on my computer and if it would be a good upgrade for what I am wanting it for?

Already found it. So first thing I'd do in Your place is I'd upgrade processor, with AMD Phenom II X4 B95, since it's the strongest CPU it officially supports. Maybe it support some stronger ones, with stronger power supply unit, but I'd rather not risk it. After, I'd get new power supply unit [at least 550-600W] I suggest Corsair RM, or some cheaper SeaSonic, or something. And then, You can get better graphics card, something like GTX 750 Ti/AMD R9 270/270X.

6670 is 8x stronger than 4200, but I'm not sure if it'll run WoW playable, really. And as I see form factor, it's Your only option. You need less than 25W power consumption on Your GPU, You can't replace the PSU at all :\, and processor upgrade won't help much, but would a bit.

Go after 6670, or anything that doesn't eat up more than 25watts from PCi-e and it needs to be low-profile.

I'll have to pull it out of the closet and see what I have to work with and I'll let you know.My brother knows a good bit about all this stuff but a second opinion is always helpful. I'll be back for more help when I save a little $. Thanks
