Hi all,

In short:
I got the 0x80070571 error code and said the drive is corrupted. - Windows repair seem to have solved the corrupted drive problem, but the SSD is really slow after a few minutes in windows. What do I do now?

My SSD is not working correctly and slows windows and all programs on SSD down. I started my PC up and was lagging badly, I couldn't even browse. I thought it was McAfee which caused the problem when it was scanning, it slows down my laptop a lot, but it had never affected my desktop. I stopped Mcafee from scanning, but it didn't work, so I fired up Ccleaner, which took way too long to do its job(it did clean all the browser cookies and registry problems). Still no change in the lag on windows. Then I tried reparing my C disk and windows broke it and made my motherboard (MOBO) not recognise my SSD anymore. The SSD was recognised in the boot menu after restarting my computer, and it finished 'repairing' my drive. I got into windows but it was still lagging and slow in task manager it was constantly at 100% but didn't get higher speeds than around 50Kb/s, I tried finding 'the process' which I thought caused the problem in the resource window or in a third party software, didn't work. When I restarted again I noticed that it took longer than usual to get into the BIOS and the MOBO gave me the A9 error code. (I don't know what's up with that) then I thought my MOBO may have been causing the issues, so I turned the powersupply off and tried to power my system up again, nothing worked. Then I saw in another article that I had to remove one of my RAM sticks. I tried it and it and surprisingly the PC booted into windows. I wanted to remove a game from my SSD since there was only 23Gb left from the original 223 (usable) Gb's. I thought it wouldn't hurt giving it more space, but I got the 0x80070571 error code and said the drive is corrupted. What do I do now? I know there are probably other threads which address this issue, but because of the other problems I got I posted it anyway. Thanks for the help in advance. And what do I do with the other Ram stick now? - The other ram stick seems to work.

System Specs:
Windows 8.1 64b
Asrock Z77 Extreme 4
Intel i5 3570K 4Ghz
Corsair 8GB 1600Mhz
Nvidia GTX 770
OCZ 600W
Samsung 1TB HDD
Mushkin Chronos 240GB SSD (The 'Problem')

Yes windows started fine but with the ssd having all the files corrupted. Now the ssd is repaired again but has the same problem of being really slow again. Both ram sticks are back in and seem to work fine. Everytime I start windows up the SSD works fine for 5 to 10 minutes then starts going really slow and freezes windows and sometimes speeds up again. The SSD is relatively new.
