Hey all,

Ive just now bought my own pc with a intel core i5 and a H97M-E motherboard from Asus socket 1150

I don't have any DVD rom in it because i never use them so I created a bootable USB for installing windows 8

Now ive got my pc new and started up in the bios it wont show the USB at all, ive tried changing alot of stuff, CSM support on and off, secure boot on and off, fast boot on and off, it just wont work

The wireless mouse and keyboard however does work, and the usb works fine on my old pc which has a very tight bios you can barely edit at all, this new Asus Bios is like WAY TOO MUCH stuff to change, i just dont know what to do, ive already had to reset the battery because after some change the keyboard and mouse didnt work anymore either

Any help appreciated! The USB is formatted NTFS

It wont show up in the boot menu either with F8

Solution
Try turning pc off from back of power supply. Then press power button for 3 secs to drain all charge. Then wait 10-20 seconds and plus in USB stick. Now turn the power supply back on, turn on system and see if it shows then.

Doing the above will reset the usb hub on the board and if the usb stick is in before the board receives power, it may work.
