When trying to open MS Office and other programs I get this message. On this forum it says to reinstall C++. My computer is showing to C++ 2005 and 2 for 2008 as well as a 2005 update. Which one if any needs to be reinstalled? Problem came after running anti virus scan, rootkit scan, malware scan and adware scan and removal as indicated to keep virus' from locking up the computer trying to load. I used Avast, Malwarebytes, Malwarebytes Rootkit, and adw cleaner

Solution
The answer is all of them!

Go to http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/

Download the latest version of the 2005 SP1 C++ Redistributable, 2008 SP1 C++ Redistributable (If you have x86 and 64bit versions of these, get both.

Uninstall all the versions installed, install the ones you downloaded.

If that doesn't solve the problem, you may also want to consider downloading the latest version of the .NET Framework which can be another source of side by side errors. If you need to re-install the default version that came with the OS, it can be removed and re-installed from Windows Add or Remove Features.
