So, I want to get a next-gen console but I dont know which one to get. I am debating between the ps4 and xbox 1. I wanted to know from people who actually have the consoles which one is generally better. I would like to know which is better in graphics, which has least bugs, which has a better controller, which has a better UI, and which has better and more exclusives. I know that all these are your opinions and thats all i care about. Please dont make a bitch fight over this.

I imagine you should, plus there's the benefit of superior hardware. If it were me I'd buy a Xbox One just because I'm super excited for Quantum Break but in your case I think the PS4 would be best suited for you.
Controllers, UI, exclusives, and bugs are all going to be subjective. Each console has a fan base that will defend the merits of said points. With that, certain things are not so much of a debate

-> The playstation has better graphics. It's just a more powerful machine.
-> The xbox one has less available ram. It runs 3 operating systems at a time, which seems pretty inefficient.
-> Xbox One has a T.V. tuner. If your into getting T.V. through your game console, you can do that with it.

I think that microsoft changed so much with the xbox one due to poor response. In my opinion they messed up big with the xbox one. Also, who the heck decided that the console should look like a VCR player?

Ya, the xbone is pretty bulky but I have alot of space on my desk so thats no issue. I also read somewhere that if you have a monitor then you wouldnt notice a difference between the xbox and ps4. I have a 27" 1080p led monitor.

Games don't have a huge graphical difference right now between the consoles but later on when they need to squeeze every drop from them, the PS4 will be looking much better.

Also remember that each console usually has a different selection of games. Xbox consoles always get the most america games while sony consoles get japanese games. If you are into fighting games or RPGs, the PS4 would be a good choice.

Highly unlikely, 900p and 1080p look very similar. My brother owns a PS4 and I watch him play some of the same games at 900p that I play on 1080p and I don't notice much of a difference pixel wise. If you're into exclusives I would say go with the Xbox One, they have a good future line-up. Tomb Raider, Halo, Forza, Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, Scalebound, Fable Legends, etc. The PS4 have a few good one's of their own as well: The Order: 1886, Bloodborne, Drive Club, Uncharted 4, etc. It really just depends on your preference.

The PS4 runs a couple games at 900p, not many but a couple. The Xbox One runs many games at 900p. So I'm just saying you may not get the full 1080p quality out of your monitor with a few games on PS4 and many on Xbox One. Although I'm not an expert on console resolutions and how they scale on monitors so I'm not sure what the result would be.

Mathew-san is right. A few games run at a funky resolution as the xbox one doesn't quite have the power for full HD.

Right now you aren't going to notice much of a difference between the two. All I will say is that you can expect the PS4 to pull ahead more graphics wise as the consoles age.

The real deciding factors are going to be whether you like the games on the console and how it feels. Interface, controller, ect. Just look at the game libraries of previous gen xbox 360 and ps3 to get an idea of what's going to come out on the new consoles.

Indeed, the PS4 does have more powerful hardware (especially the GPU) and you'll begin to see a noticeable difference in graphical fidelity compared to that of the Xbox One in the future. Right now the Xbox One is sacrificing resolution but later on it'll be anti-aliasing, textures, shaders, etc. Small but noticeable differences.

I have a 360 at the moment and i love it. I tried both consoles out and i prefer the xbox 1 controller over the ps4 controller. I like the xbone interface better but I also want the ps4 because i want best of both worlds kind of thing. I have a ps2 and i used to play the shit out of that thing. I dont think there would be much of a difference in graphics, and both controllers are pretty decent. So I guess it comes down to the games. Which one do you guys think has better exclusives?

Besides Halo and Quantum Break I couldn't really care less about the Xbox One exclusives. I was interested in Ryse but it's no longer an exclusive so I can't count that as one of my favorite exclusives. Thor is right, a lot of Xbox One exclusives are geared towards teens and kids, especially Kinect games.
