R9 280 3gb ddr5 vs R9 285 2gb ddr5

I was reading about their comparison but i could not understand anything. Please tell which one is better and why.

280/280X are better in terms of overlocking, performance. It has more vram too...

Performance wise the 280 and 285 are about the same. I would get the 280 for that extra Gb of vram that newer games will take advantage of.
