Is 1680x1050 good enough for gaming with GTX 970

Is 1680x1050 good enough or should i upgrade to 1080p? I dont have budget for a new screen since im already buying a gtx 970 so my current resolution is good enough for modern gaming and also the difference b/w 1080p and 1680x1050 is humongous?

yes it can run games 2-3years from now in 1080p@high(no guarantee in tech but judging by its current progress it will).Also it can run in 1440p(2560x1440 if i am correct) which offers better clarity and quality than 1080p(1920x1080)

Scaling is the resizing of the ingame resolution to fit to your screen resolution(1680x1050)

What if i go for 1920x1200 ? Is gtx 970 good enough to run games at this resolution after 2 years at atleast med settings?
