Hie guys,

I recently put together a PC with the following Spec

Processor : Intel 5930K
Motherboard : Asus X99 Deluxe
RAM : Corsair Vengence DDR4 2666MHz (4 x4GB)
GPUs : Gigabyte G1 GTX 970 x 2
PSU : Corsair RM1000
Cooler : Corsair H110
SSD : Samsung 850 Pro 512GB
HDD : WD 4TB Black & WD 3TB Green (the one lying around)
Case : NZXT Phantom 820
OS : Windows 8.1 - 64bit

Issues I am facing :

1. When I cold boot the PC - the Mobo is stuck at the Q-Code b2. Manual says b2 stands for "Legacy Option ROM Initialization". It keeps beep for about 15 mins then goes to Q-Code Ad which is "Ready for Boot event". Then in 5 minutes it goes to Q-Code AA which is "Reserved for ASL (see ASL Status Codes section below)" [AA in the ASL Status codes reads "System has transitioned into ACPI mode. Interrupt controller is in APIC mode]

After all this nothing happens, I try restarting the pc and 1 in 4 times I get to the OS, other times im stuck at b2 or Ad or AA (Its like a vicious circle)

2. The RAM I am using is 2666MHz, whereas everytime i try to clock the RAM to 2666MHz in BIOS using XMP profile - one of two things happens - either the system gets stuck at b2 (as stated above) or the CPU gets underclocked to 3.0GHz.

(FYI - The only way I could get 2666MHz was by overclocking the CPU to 4GHz - but problem 1 still persists)

I have spent 2 days trying to make sense of all this, and realized I need help. Anyone who know what this is or has gone through this before please tell me how to fix it or atleast tell me which part is causing the issue.

Things I have tried :
1. Checked all the wirings.
2. Checked the power cables being plugged in tight.
3. Inspected the MOBO for physical damage (as far as the naked eye can see)
4. Tried a few clocks
5. Flashing the BIOS to the latest version 1103, then an older version 1004, then 0904 then 0801 which came loaded from the factory and now back to 1103.
6. Reset BIOS to default settings. (in all the above versions)

Found out its an issue related to Nvidia with regard to the Display port

http://www.overclock.net/t/1515655/gtx-980-displayport-issue-anyone-else

https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/777412/geforce-drivers/black-screen-on-windows-login-344-16-and-11-on-displayport-with-gtx980-sc-fix-info-posted-11-25-/1/

The only way to fix it seems to be to wait for Nvidia to release driver updates. They have released a hotfix, and that helps a lot - but is NOT a complete resolution to the issue at hand.
