will a processor with a intel h55 chipset go with a motherboard with a Intel x79 chipset?

H55 = LGA 1156 socket

x79 = LGA 2011 socket

So, no, you can't swap CPUs.

1) The chipset matters to the extent of whether you are going to SLI/XFire and/or overclock. That's it.
2) NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any 5-series chipset CPU has 856 less contact points than X79 chipsets, or LGA2011 sockets. They are also generations apart. What are you thinking!!!!

A better chipset can also provide more SATA ports, or other connections like Express SATA.
