Solution
OK with what you have said above, an i3 (get current gen, or the anniversary pentium) and you'll be ok. BUT you've said get an i3 or upgrade your current, getting an any other processor will require a new mobo, new ram as well, there's not much more of an upgrade to do.

Actually my current PC specs are-AMD Athlon II X2 245,2Gb ddr2,256MB nvidia 7025/nforce 630a graphics card....,m interested in buying a Core i3 1st gen.So any suggestion dat whether i shld buy a core i3 1st gen OR simply upgrade my current PC.My screen resolution is 1280*1024 n i want to play games like-Fifa 15,Resident evil 6....

i'd still say that the CPU is too weak for 'hardcore' gaming, by which I mean any game, at 1080p, at high settings, at 60fps, including multiplayer. For a reasonable gaming experience, occasionally going below 60fps, medium to high settings depending on the game, at 1080p, then yes it'll do that.
Of course, as you pointed out, this is all based upon having a decent enough GPU to do the above.
