I have a network, configured as follows :

Internet <---> Modem/Router LAN port <----> LAN-port 1 of TP-Link <----> PC1, PC2 (LAN port 2,3).

The Modem/Router and Router TP-Link will be referred as R1 resp. R2.

DHCP of R1 ON, of R2 OFF.

R1 : IP = 192.168.178.1 ; IP Range = 192.168.178.10 ... 192.168.178.73

When I connect R2 to R1 (as above), R1 has generated IP address 192.168.178.14 voor R2.
I've made this IP address static by binding it to the MAC address of the R2. Is it correct ???

1) At the moment I cannot access R2 for other setting. On R2 What must I do to get access to R2 to do some extra setting ??? I've read some guide and the advise is that the IP address of R2 must not b in range of 192.168.178.10 ... 192.168.178.73 of R1. If I give 192.168.178.2 to R2 as IP address, should it works, because this IP is not in range of R1 ???

2) Which IP addresses will have the PC1 eand PC2 ???

1) Yes, for DMZ you will use the IP address of PC1 (from R1). No settings are required in R2.

2) The port number is dependent on the application, so you'll need to refer to the apps documentation. For example, if you need to forward Skype for PC1:

Local IP (PC1) ex: 192.168.178.11
Local Port: 23399
External Port: 23399 (often the same as local port)
External IP: (visit...

1) There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with your current configuration, although the recommendation to set a static IP outside the DHCP scope is sound. Instead of using MAC/IP binding, I would suggest setting a static IP on R2 outside DHCP is the better method. So yes, you should set R2 to 192.168.178.2; DHCP remains off on R2.

2) PC1 and PC2 will still receive IPs via DHCP from R1.

Suppose I do everything described in 1) and 2) , and I want DMZ or Port Forwarding for PC1.
1) For DMZ on PC1, the IP address of the PC1, received from R1 via its DHCP will be usd ??? And Also setting will be done in R2 ???
2) For Port Forwarding on PC1, other things are involved, for example local IP address, local ports, external IP address, external port ... , what should be used. Canyou give me an example with concrete port numbr and IP address ???

For both 1) and 2) do I have to set something concerning Firewall ???

No specific settings are required to your firewall. You should keep settings enabled.
