AMD fx 8320 running crazy hot

I just made a new build for a girl who needed a pc for games/editing the problem is the cpu is runing crazy hot 50-60 celcius at IDLE havent even installed a game yet.. the cpu was not even running @ 50% load.

Cpu is installed with stock cooler and thermal compound from an coolermaster 212 evo in a small Pea at the center of the cpu.

Anyone got a solution my best idea is to buy a 212 evo for her, im just thinking that you shold be able to use the stock cooler witn no overclock.

Ambient temperature? What voltage is applied to the CPU? Why didn't you use the thermal paste that came with the stock HSF?

Most stock CPU coolers come with paste already applied.
It you did not remove the stock paste from the bottom of the cooler, you have way too much thermal paste installed. Which becomes an insulator instead of a micro thin conveyor.

Ambient temp is about 22 celcius voltage is currently on auto the stock cpu and cooler was a demonstration model so the paste was missing

You could try running with case side off briefly & see if that makes a difference? (Just to eliminate poor airflow as a possible cause). If it's still running really hot, I would be tempted to take the cooler off, clean everything down and reseat it. What are you using to measure temps?

Little thermal paste is required; it's purpose is to fill the voids between the heatsink and the processor. I prefer using an old and clean credit card to spread a very very thin layer of paste as I'm then sure the whole CPU is covered. If you"re not thinly spreading it, then using a grain of rice should be enough.

I cleaned everything and repasted the cpu a Pea in the center of the cpu half the size than before and we are currently @ 50 celsius in the bios doing nothing :-(

This is an incorrect statement; while in the BIOS the CPU is working and it should be much cooler when the OS is loaded and the system is idle. Test it using Prime95 torture tests and check how warm it gets.

37 - 57 celcius in windovs doing nothing I only opened HW monitor

the temp does jump crazy up and down 37 - 57

i think it is kinda solved now I ran prime 95 for 5 minutes and the temp is stable @ 60 running full load... maybe im just expexting to much of this stock cooler

windovs update, and something called ccc.exe now im just about find the right cpu fan profile in the bios

The solution was less paste and bumping up the rear fan speed to max.. you guys just saved me a extra aftermarked cooler thanks

A good aftermarket cooler would allow for some overclocking.

yeah you are right i got a 8350 @ 4.4 for myself, but this is for a friend and she will mainly use it for designing and photo editing and i bit light gaming.. if it was mine I would throw in a cooler master 212 evo and bump it to 4 ghz
