So i have AMD phenom x6 II 2.8Gb and motherboard that supports AMD3. Proc is over4 years old and i have to replace it, cuz its performace decreased alot.

Can someone tell me what combination of Motherboard/CPU should i buy, because AMD3 socket cant be used for amd fx ones.

Solution
I would look into an i5 or an i7 with a good Z97 board.
I dont know of any eu shops to give specific links, but I recommend the ASUS Z97-A and the i5 4690k or i7 4790k, depending on what your budget allows.
I cannot help you with your request for a recommendation, since I've not used AMD processors anytime in the 21st century. :)

I just want to take up the claim of "decreased performance". In general, a processor won't decrease performance over its life. It will always operate at the same frequency and with the same performance characteristics.

Of course, this assumes that it does not get throttled from external factors, such as increased heat due to dust build-up or a failing power supply (that can decrease it's performance over time, since the capacitors, etc. may become degraded).

What does happen is that the applications and games become more demanding, and also that the installed application base over time will build up and add many programs and tasks that are active and resident and will drain the resources of the processor.

Sometimes a remarkable improvement in performance can be achieved on an old processor or computer by simply re-installing the operating system and then taking care what applications are installed.

If you don't have your heart set on AMD, then this will outperform any AMD machine on the market.

I've priced it in Germany, but you can adjust the PCPartpicker country selection for a few alternate countries in Europ if one of them is more convenient.

Depending on use the difference may not be noticeable. i7 processors are the same base clock, etc., but includes circuitry for hyper-threading which improves throughput in situations where many tasks require CPU processing.
