Graphics card upgrade advice needed

Not a total newbie or anything, just looking for assurance I guess..

My rig is getting Kinda outdated, specifically my video card. I am currently rocking a Radeon 6850 (1gb 256 bit ddr5)

Looking to grab Radeon R9 290x. My question is whether i would have to upgrade my cpu to see the results I could. I currently have an amd Phenom II x4 965 quad core processor.
Would it be pertinent to spend money I dont really have on a new processor?
Looking to play games like company of heroes 2, BF4, and the new dragon age on high-max graphics.

Also, I have a 700w power supply, Newegg XFX suggests a minimum of 750w, what are your thoughts on this?

The r9 290x uses around 225w while gaming (http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-r9-290x-hawaii-review,3650-29.html) and the rest of your system shouldn't use more than 200w, so you should be fine.

Next time you decide to upgrade, think about upgrading your cpu (and mobo) and also your psu, depending on how old it is.

Its been a while since I built it. I think it is a rosewill, but i am sure it is Bronze certified.

I havnt overclocked yet, but I plan on doing it before I look into a new cpu. Ran a 40 minute torture test using Prime and it touched 60 degrees for around 5 seconds, generally sat around 56 or 57. Thinking of multiplying by 2x and seeing what that does to the temps
