Hi I am building my new rig (i wish to play 3d games and still do 3d work/rendering)
And this are the parts I am aiming to buy.
I will do some gaming (assassin's creed, CoD etc)
and am also using this for 3d modeling and rendering work.(mainly maya 2014& zbrush)

this are some of the specs i had in mind

AMD Radeon HD 7950 (read somewhere that its good for maya)
Asus ROG Maximus VII hero (gaming mobord)
intel i7 4790k (cpu for rendering)
4x 8gb G.SKILL Ripjaws Series (ram for rendering)
SAMSUNG 250GB 840 EVO SSD (fast storage)
CORSAIR HX1050W (is this too much?)

I've searched that the hd 7950 works ok with maya 2014. (viewport performance I guess?)
but since in rendering its mainly cpu and ram based. I was aiming for an intel i7 4790k. Is my motherboard ok? I am trying to balance between gaming and 3d modeling/rendering.

Please share your thoughts on this ^^

Motherboard fine. GPU is fine. PSU more than enough (overkill). You shouldn't have any issues as far as compatibility (or speed). It will work just fine. If you wanted to, a graphics upgrade would round out the system, but for what you're doing it should be fine.
