If you have an empty or almost empty cartridge you could try getting some head cleaning fluid - this can help by disolving any clogged ink but it can often take several cleaning cycles.
Most refill kits come with a bottle of cleaning solution - Many had good success with it, if it fails then often the embedded head in the printer has failed and replacing it is more expensive than replacing the printer but that choice is up to you.
