Looking to upgrade my processor to this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113284 and im curious of 2 things. Oviously the i5 4690k is better but my computer (pre-built) has an AM3+ socket. If theres a better processor with an AM3+ socket let me know but id like to make sure I can upgrade and im not missing anything and make sure there aren't anything better. (I am also upgrading my GFX Card and another 8GB of RAM but i posted those 2 on seprate forums in there respective threads) here are my current specs: http://i.gyazo.com/87c3f038e36452c6d47c95801b0448b9.png

Solution
I have no idea about AMD CPU's. Never built an AMD system.

You'll have to wait for someone else to answer that question. But if thats the mobo, whatever you decide to get update the BIOS first.

So it'll support it

Actually before I do that. On the upgrade for my graphics card the guy recommended a power supply upgrade. Out of curiousity. Since Im gonna be buying a new (GTX 770) graphics card this processor or an i5 if i do a custom made from scratch. And another ram stick. Im curious would i be able to use the other ram stick from this pc and just buy a new case and a new motherboard? Im curious as to if thats just a better way to go. Id also like to keep my harddrive and not have to buy another one. Since it already has all my stuff on it. Would that all work or...

Id rather not have to change everything. I ran speccy and the manufactur is MSI so what would I do with this info to reassure that the new processor is compatible.

Well since id rather not have to do all that which one of the AMD processors from this compatible list http://www.msi.com/support/mb/760GMP34_FX.html#support-cpu is best for gaming. I want this to run very well... I want to stream as I play games and id prefer higher res. I will be getting a GTX 770 and stuff im having someone else help me with that right now on another thread but yeah... what would you recommend :S the 8350 isnt on there but the 8300 is. Anyway out of all those processors what do you recommend.

Edit: Or do you think I should just still with the 4300 quad core. It seems to be fine ive just heard that theres better and I should get an i5 which isnt possible without a motherboard change... So does sticking with this one sound best or would you recommend an upgrade to one of those on the compatible list
