We cannot advise other members on how to get product keys, however, if you have the original email sent when you purchased the upgrade or have a Microsoft account with a record of the transaction, either of those ways should supply the necessary information.

If those methods fail, you can try this utility to retrieve your current legitimate product key.

I personally used Acronis and it worked great.
Usually the manufacturers supply some kind of disk cloning software with the disk, or on line for download.
Check it out and if there is such a software supplied for free use that.
It will allow you to clone the entire disk (HDD) to the new SSD as is, and after doing so you will be running in a matter of minutes (20-30).

Keep in mind that it is always best to do a clean install in these cases.

PS. Also make sure you have made the necessary changes to the system to accommodate the SSD.

i got the disk from my manufactures for windows itself but i upgraded my windows from home to to the ULT,

so if i use my disk would it upgrade to home? or later will i have the option to go back to ULT

edited: note the upgrade was done by the windows update feature/ buy feature in the system so it was done legit.
....

will that work?
if not than i clone

Are you wanting to move your entire OS, as is, to the new SSD, or do a clean installation of just the OS on the new SSD? I highely recommend doing a clean install, but if you want to move the entire OS as is, then the above methods are your best bet and nothing about the disk or license keys is relevant as it's not even needed. If you want to do a clean install, you will need to have your current license key available to do so and if you've upgraded to a higher version than your OE key provides for, you'll need to have that key.

yea, the only thing i worry about should i installed the windows with the new MB or the old than do the update,

since the Disk is an OEM from alienware but my update removes that and change it to a normal Window 7 ult

It shouldn't matter where the disk is from, Windows is Windows and you want to make any and all hardware changes prior to a clean install so that no drivers or configurations occur that are not directly related to the hardware you will actually be running. This is so that there can be little to no chance of there being conflicts with the drivers or configuration settings that may have been present and necessary with the old hardware. Of course Windows will recognize and in most cases, install the necessary hardware drivers as well as reconfigure the settings after a hardware change, but sometimes old crap just tends to get in the mix and insist on hanging around.

It's just better to do a clean install AFTER all long term hardware installation has been completed. That way it actually IS a CLEAN install.

So, install all hardware, install windows with the OEM disk, then upgrade, then do windows critical and important updates followed by any necessary or desired optional windows updates. After that, you can install all your applications and configure the system the way you want.
