Computer randomly shuts down (not immediate power off, but a formal shut down)

Hello all,

I just started to experience an issue where I was using the computer normally, and all of a sudden the Windows 7 prompt would ask if i'd like to end the following XXXXX tasks before shutdown. I was able to click cancel once or twice to buy some time, but it would inevitably happen again. After the computer shuts itself down, it occasionally randomly turns back on after some minutes (~5 on average) in which case it generally shuts itself off immediately then after startup (usually within a minute or two). I usually do not have any trouble turning it back on immediately after either, but it turns off quite a bit quicker if it had just been on. Before I continue my computer is a:

Windows 7 OS (current on updates)
I last ran a virus scan one month ago (attempts to do it again can not be completed before another shut down occurs)
700W power supply
Good AMD processor (6 core 3.3ghz, i believe)
Single GeForce GTX 670
8 gigs ram

My rig is about 3 years old, so I tried replacing/upgrading the power supply thinking perhaps windows was experiencing fluctuating power, so I have a 800w power supply now. That did not solve the problem, but I didn't really mind the upgrade. But I'd rather not keep trying random solutions.

I hope I was clear enough... None of the other "power off" problems here seemed similar. Please ask any necessary follow-on questions!

try to load your computer in safe mode with networking and see if the behaviour is reocurring and also when your in normal mode,.. do check the background services and startup applications running in background and if u find anything malicious, do remove them and also try to delete the entire process and also try to stop/delete the service entirely
