So i have had my nexus for 11 months now. great tablet in my opinion till now. my daughter usually plays it and one night it the battery died when she was playing and it shut off. so when i went to bed i plugged it in and the battery icon said charging. so i went to sleep got up and moved the cord to see the battery status and it said it was full so i unplugged it and the screen never turned on with the buttons. so i plugged it back in and the battery icon never showed up. i sent it in for RMA and they said i have water damage which i think is crazy because it was working fine and there was no water on it from the time it was working till it not... they wanted 265$ to fix it! so they sent it back unrepaired.. when i got it back i plugged it in and now the battery icon shows up again? the battery charged up to full like it normally would too. I still cannot get the tablet to turn on.. someone in a different forum suggested that it could be a broke power/volume button. is there anyway of telling if thats the problem or is there anything else i can try?
Nexus 7 2nd gen. Is it broken? or easy fix?

try turning on by pressing power and volume buttons at the same time
though if the volume button is broken obviously this wont work

also make sure you are using the actual nexus charger--not a mobile phone or other device charger that has the same connector
charge it for a while then try turning on by pressing and holding down the power button for 30 seconds

yeah thats typical
can try the things i said--but its always best to have the actual nexus charger
