I had previously posted my setup and asked it it could run modern games with the aforementioned 3x27" displays I will have shortly, in eyefinity mode. Response wasn't positive for me.

So now I ask what kinkind of GPU/CPU do I need to be running to make this viable? Keep in mind I don't very often play very graphic intensive games (i.e. I play LoL, WoW, Skyrim so on) so what do you guys think I'm looking at?

Current setup:
CPU: AMD FX-8120 8-core @ 3.1GHz
GPU: HIS iPower IceQ Turbo HD 7850 4GB GDDR5 (GPU@1010MHz/Mem@1212MHz)
RAM: 8GB GSkill Ripjaw 9-9-9-24
MB: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3

27" displays come in various resolutions.
What did you have in mind?
1080P. 1440P 4k?

Regardless, you would be at least tripling the number of pixels that your graphics card would be required to manage.
For shooters, that usually means dual strong graphics cards.
Dual 7850 may not be enough for that.

However for slower action games, your 7850 may be satisfactory.

I think it would be a reasonable plan to go ahead and buy your three monitors and see how you do.
Just so long as you are prepared to spend more to buy whatever you need to play your games at a satisfactory level.

MMO and strategy games tend to be cpu intensive and single threaded. I wonder if your FX-8120 is the best cpu for that. FX cores are slow, and extra cores are not much help.

Yeah just 1080p; thanks for the help guys.

I'm going to give it a shot with what I have aND move from there. At the time I upgraded the 8-core was on sale do I went with that, even though I know I rarely, or ever, use all 8 cores. My first upgrade may be getting a 4.0GHz+ 6 core
