Hi Guys,

I have hard time to decide which one to buy.

I was thinkin about SAPPHIRE R9 280X VAPOR-X OC BOOST for 268e.
But then, I discovered MSI R9 290 Gaming 4G for 279e.

And now I don't know which one should I buy. The sapphire have better cooling(at least I think... I don't have any experience with MSI coolers) but it's still "just a R9 280x" :D
Thanks for help.

Oh and here is my config:

I5-4690k
Crucial DDR3 1600Mhz CL9 2x4Gb kit
GIGABYTE Z97-D3H
SuperFlower 550w 80+ platinum

The 280x will not struggle in new games. But the 290 will run hot. Given the very small price difference I'd get the MSI 290 and leave it at stock. It'll max out 290 much like the 280x but give you some extra room for the future.

R9 290 is much more superior. R9 280X gonna struggle in 1080p in many new demanding game.
Anyway how much is the price of GTX 970 at your place? If price doesnt much different, you might take a look at that card though.

Maybe because i prefer to maximize my setting and get fps over 60 all the time. R9 280X is still great for 1080p. It just you need to lower down some details just to get reasonable fps. And i'm sure many new future game will become more demanding. Even GTX 970 doesn't get decent fps for many new games like Far Cry 4 and AC Unity.

@ TS - Go for R9 290. The extra performance that you gain is worth it.
