Just bought a Chromebook for my parents. It has the Intel Celeron 2955U. I thought it was a great little thing for web surfing. I know the Tegra K1 is billed as a better graphics processor (on Chromebooks I guess this is for streaming?)... But is there a huge different in performance with these two?

I know Chromebooks will eventually have Android apps available like games. Is that the drive behind this?

Thanks!

Yeah, I read the reviews that some of the apps/games didn't work.

Is this more for when Chromebooks can access the Android market? There are not many games to really take advantage of the K1 processor. Am I missing something here?

Thanks

They can only access certain apps on the Android Market. The new Core M processors from Intel come out soon, basically replacing their Atom lineup, at least higher up, so you may want to consider these instead as they are a lot more powerful.

I heard a mixed bag on the Core M processors. It was one laptop but I'm sure they will be great. Still, why run with a Tegra K1 then at all? If someone was in the market for a Chromebook, why choose one over the other?
