Is this a good first build?

Decided to get into PC gaming and was wondering if you guys thought this was a good first build:

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core
GPU: Asus Radeon R9 270X 2GB DirectCU II
RAM: G.Skill Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P ATX AM3+
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB
PSU: Corsair 500W ATX12V
Case: Corsair Graphite Series 230T Black ATX Mid Tower

My budget was around $500 and this comes out to be about $460.

Just so you are aware, the CX line is the bargain line of Corsair. It has been known to have poor quality capacitors. Still an OK PSU, but something to keep in mind if longevity is important.

Do you have a PSU you would recommend as a substitute that is still decently cheap?
