I am on a low budget for a cooler and I have got an i7 4770k. so I need to get a good cooler because they run really hot. I don't really want to use air because it isn't cool enough but water cooling is too expensive. So I've decided with the most amazingest yummiest plan ever; make my own water cooler. How do I plan to do this you may ask. Well, I have found a cheap radiator from Hong Kong ( http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120mm-Aluminum-Computer-Radiator-Water-Cooling-Cooler-for-CPU-LED-Heatsink-New-/251631676700?pt=UK_Computing_Other_Computing_Networking&hash=item3a966aad1c) which I'll be using and an Arctic F12 fan. However, I'm not very skilled with water cooling and I do not know all the parts so I need help with what I need and the cheapest option to get them. I am aiming for £25ish. I don't need amazing lights and shit, I just want a decent cooler that is safe. BTW I will be using distilled water as a coolant.

Thanks for any answers :)

I'd look through the watercooling sticky for some valuable info, including why aluminium isn't very welcome in a W/c loop :) knowledge that will come in useful when you have a few quid saved up

You need tubing, fitings, a CPU block, and a pump. Well over your budget.

Air can cool good with a good cooler. For your budget, you are either looking at something like the Hyper Evo 212, which will cool on air just fine. That or maybe a cheap all-in-one water cooler. No way though will you be able to do what you want on your budget.

Thanks but I think I may be able to pull it off. Won't be amazing but will it be better than air? Here are the parts:

That is just above £25. It's 80mm so I'm not sure If it will be good enough. Does this seem better than air?

Thanks. I think making your own water cooler will be worth it. With using a 240mm and all the other parts, you can make a water cooler for about £50-£60 and I'll add those extra chemicals and metals etc in the reservoir so the aluminium doesnt rust(I read the sticky) . So I can make a pretty decent water cooler for nearly half the cost of the h100i with pretty good performance. I'm just going to save up for that instead. Thanks for your helps.

No problem, I look forward to lots of posts and pictures, theres a few of us on here who do like the homebuilt approach but you will benefit from a little guidance from time time time so keep us updated and we can help steer you clear of any potential problems :) Rubix_1011 4Ryan6 Lutfij and Toolmaker_03 are a couple that spring to mind so try and get them to watch the thread
