Hello, I'm looking to upgrade my CPU and my current motherboard(GIGABYTE GA-MA785GM-US2H) has an AM3/AM2+ socket which doesn't support the AM3+ CPU that I'm looking to buy.
The motherboard I'm interested in buying which suppots AM3+ is Asrock 960GC-GS FX which also is dual channel for whenever I need to upgrade my DDR2 ram to DDR3 ram but I've told that my current motherboard has better specs than the one I'm looking to buy and is more expensive too. Should I get the new one so I can fit in the CPU and of course DDR3 ram or should I keep the old one and find an AM3 CPU?

Please help me I'm desperate.

Athlon II X2 250
GTX 750
2x2 DDR2 Ram
550W PSU
GA-MA785GM-US2H

And I'm looking to get FX-6300
and the ASRock motherboard stated above.

Alright. Now what is the amount you want to spend. The 6300 and stated ASRock board would come in around $150. I would think you should look for a better motherboard.

If you can swing it up to around $200, you will get more reliable products. Here is the 8320 with a very nice Asus motherboard for $237.

It would help me to know what features would be important to you. Will you ever use multiple GPU's in Crossfire or SLI? Do you use USB 3.0? How many hard drives and disc drives do you use? And do you like to overclock your CPU's?

Since I'm getting a decent CPU I'm not looking to overclock and I use 1 HDD.
