Hey everyone! I'm doing a new gaming computer and trying to keep my budget around 1,600 possibly lower if possible. Newegg is my main store! You can link any stores though

I don't need an OS but if do which is better currently for gaming windows 7 pro? or 8.1?

I don't need a monitor but I could really use some suggestions for one between 100-300ish!!

I would really like to do GTX-970 sli (brands matter so which is the best?) loudness, OC?

I would like to OC my cpu! Good cooling solution for it? those i5 4690k OC well?

Fast ram is the best right?

Case options? airflow/filters and such

Any people who respond and can give me some help with this build I am super grateful :)

The 850W G2 is one of the best PSU's on the market, more than enough for SLI 970's and an overclocked 4690K.

The D14 is good, but it's huge. I'd go for the U14S instead.

If you can find some good 2133 sticks for the same price as 1600 sticks, yes it's a good deal. Look for Cas 9 at 1.65V or Cas 10 at 1.6V.

Newegg has a very nice sale right now on the bronze version of that PSU.

But I think G-unit has a very nice build. I would maybe go with a western digital black series hard drive over the Barracuda. I've just had good luck with them in the past. Great CPU cooler!

EDIT: I just noticed the PSU I listed as on sale is the B2, not the G2. Still a nice unit though. But the G2 is better.

PSU could be changed out to drop the cost ~$50 (See above post).

SLI isn't needed unless you plan on going 1440p.

Thanks for the input but I see if went through the list you picked getting a 4690k would be $80 less by itself and 120GB SSD would be $70ish less. That is $150-$1485.13 would be $1,335.13 + 350 = 1,685.13 which is a bit over..but not bad. Is that CPU cooler really good for that price?

Any other build options from people and those answers to questions I had asked would really help out!! thanks

Why the i7 4790k over the i5 4690k? I thought the i7 advantage was pretty useless for gaming for the most part? Also, could that PSU handle a CPU OC and 970's in sli? thanks

I would suggest to go with windows 8.1 over 7. 8.1 gets better performance in most games.

This monitor is about $50 over the high side of your budget of $300...but is one seriously badass monitor.

Faster ram is better, but is pretty much unnoticeable unless it is a large difference. Anything from 1600Mhz and up will be just fine.

The Noctua D14 is definitely one of the best CPU coolers out there. I personally prefer air because you only get about 5-8 degrees Celsius cooler with closed loop water coolers. And if one of those babies pops a leak, it won't be pretty.

I would also go with the i7 over the i5 since your budget allows for it. Games will most likely take advantage of hyper threading int he future.

Thanks for the info! I wasn't sure.. I know windows 8 had some bad issues before. I'll make the move though.

That monitor is pretty sweet but not sure i'm I can shell that out atm buying a new tv also.

So if I get some 2133 sticks around the same price as the 1600 it would be worth it?

I'll def get the Noctua D14 if it's a highly rated air cooler to keep my OC at a great temp.
