I'm looking at new gaming headsets. The three I am consider are the Corsair Vengeance 1400, the Hyperx Cloud, and the Logitech G430. I do not want a USB headset because I want to eventually get a sound card and hook them up to that. Things holding me back: the G430's only have 40mm drivers. Will I notice a difference from 50+mm drivers that are on the other two? The Hyperx are not 7.1 surround sound headphones. Will I notice a difference in headsets that are 7.1 vs ones that aren't? Thanks for the help.

Looking at the three headsets you've set up here I would almost immediately rule out the Corsair headset. They are not 7.1 and they just are not up to par with the level the other two are. The G430 would be the one I would pick because of the 7.1 surround sound (trust me it makes a difference) and the fact that the sound and bass levels they produce are much better than that of the others. This is the headset I am going to buy once I have saved up enough to buy my beast gaming rig. It is a pretty good headset and is feature-rich for just $79.99 (may be more in different stores). Unless you want to crank out some cash for the A40's or the Razer Tiamat Elite's which are priced at $250 and $200 respectively, the G430's are about the best...
