I have a win 2008 server with 2 SAS drives in Raid 1 and a LSI Raid Card
One of the drives showed degraded in the Raid Bios so i got a new drive identical to the one needing replaced.
The Raid bios will not auto rebuid or manual rebuild the new drive.
And i just noticed, the Raid bios is showing the incorrect size for the drive, and also the wrong product ID. The Raid bios is showing the drive is about 50GB smaller than what it should be, so the logs say something to the effect of "Physical drive to small to auto rebuild"
Does that mean the drive is likely bad? Possilby a refurb that is no good?
Or does it mean my Raid Controller is bad? Or maybe just doesnt like the drive for some reason.
Any ideas on troubleshooting steps?

Any input appreciated..
thx

check if the new drive has the new format on it and needs to be realined to the old byte format for xp.
