well i bought this computer about 4 years ago and the only thing ive don't in that time was get a new power supply and and a msi 465. lately most newer games have not been running all that great on my pc. i was looking forward to gta 5 and a couple other games but at this point im not sure i can even run them

system specs
windows 7 ultimate
i7 1st gen
gtx 465
msi x58 pro
6 gb ddr3 3 2gb sticks mb can hold 6
power supply gs700 700 w
hopefully i got all the necessary info ?

what do you guys think i should do? i have about $400-500 to spend maybe more if needed. my biggest fear is buying new hardware and its not compatible with everything else. im far from an computer expert but i was thinking all i needed to do was get a new gpu and maybe more ram and id be good to go.

also if this is helpful this is almost what i got. ive changed a few things

First what is the brand of your power supply, cant seem to find any info about it on your post. 700watt may not be a 700 watt. And it would be nice to know what power...

Hi Bryan, It does look like your system would improve by updating your graphics card. 6gb or Ram should not be slowing the system. You could add more if you want but it shouldn't be necessary.

any recommendations on graphics cards? i was thinking about a 760 but im not sure of what kind of performance increase i would get . and would i need a new power supply if i do upgrade or is the 700w enough? one last question... turns out one of my 3 ram sticks is dead if i but more do i just pull them out and pop the new ones in or is there more to it than that?

IF a Ram stick is dead, all you have to do is pull it out and replace it. But the computer will benefit more from install RAM in Pairs.
