Should I get WD Blue 1TB or WD Black 2TB

Since things are mostly on sale on Amazon (Black Friday). I'm deciding whether to get a WD Blue 1TB for $59.67 or a WD Black 2TB for $104.67. I've done my math and I've calculated that 2 of WD Blue 1TB would be $119.34 and that would save me $14.67 if I buy a WD Black 2TB instead of 2 Blue's. The reason I'm asking is because I want to know if it's worth it to buy a 2TB instead of a 1TB because there is a HUGE sale going on right now. Please help.

Hey there, CaptEinstein!

It really depends on what are you planning to use the HDD(s) for?
A 2 TB WD Black is worth it if you are into gaming, or using demanding applications, or wanting high-end performance, then I believe there's no better choice than that. http://goo.gl/c9sDy9

A 1 TB WD Blue HDDs is also a suitable storage solution, if you just want solid performance. http://goo.gl/t091RW

If it's the latter, I personally would get 2 x 1 TB WD Blue drives because it's safer to have two HDDs, instead of one - this way if one fails, you would have the other and maybe make it a backup drive.
But if I'm using any high-end software, I'd go with the WD Black for better performance.

Hope this helped. Let me know what you decided! :)

But 2 x 1TB would take a lot of case space for just 2tb. to which I could easily install 2 x 2tb for 4tb size with a 2tb backup drive probably. Plus, the black one is much faster and is more recommended for gaming.

Yes, indeed. WD Black would be the best solution for you , since you are gaming!
Hope you enjoy it and happy computing! :bounce:
