DVI-I to VGA or DisplayPort to VGA?

So, my secondary monitor only has a VGA cable and my video card has a spare DisplayPort and DVI-I port (I'm already using a DVI-D to HDMI converter for the main monitor and an HDMI cable for the TV) so I'm going to have to go the dreaded converter/adapter route.

Which one of these is preferable in your opinion? I won't be doing anything other than watching videos and displaying text on the secondary monitor.

Thanks!

ether way your go your going from a digital signal to analog so it will look the same. I would just do the dvi to vga since the card came with the adapter so you wont have to go out and buy anything.

Yeah, it does come with one of those, I actually tried one of those that claimed to be DVI-D to VGA and it did nothing. I think found out that they don't work for DVI-D since it's a digital signal so you need an active adapter. I hope the adapter is DVI-I, although I'm not sure whether I converts to analogue with a passive adapter.
